Raised just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, the city’s artistic and multi-cultural atmosphere was a shaping influence in Lauren’s individualistic character. Earning a BFA in textiles and painting from Eastern Michigan University Lauren continued to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to establish an industry-focused portfolio. Lauren spent many years in the fashion industry before starting her own small studio business to create unique hand-made textiles.

The biggest influence as a California designer is the belief in possibilities, exploring what’s next. California has an optimistic and experimental energy that has always nurtured design with forward momentum. 

My work reflects this spirit of free flowing openness that does not follow a trend but celebrates individuality and artistic expression. I seek a direct relationship with materials and experimentation drawing both on my love for abstract painting and California’s coastal beauty.
